Fertility and Gender

You want a family. Together we can make it happen.

Only a practice with over 2 decades experience helping families get started through Assisted Reproductive Technology will deliver a seamless experience for singles and members of the LGBT community.

Heterosexual couples, members of the LGBT community, and single women undergo different processes and face unique challenges when it comes to fertility and gender.

For example, a same-sex female couple will need donor sperm and can choose either intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization as a treatment plan, while a same-sex male couple will need to learn about egg donor, in vitro fertilization and gestational carrier. Transsexual individuals have still another set of parameters, as does a single woman wishing to start a family on her own.

Heterosexual couples trying to conceive without success for more than 6-12 months (depending on age), should consider a consultation with a fertility specialist to determine whether simple tests are necessary to identify or rule out possible obstacles to successfully becoming or holding a pregnancy.

Both men and women can be evaluated for fertility fairly quickly and with relatively little expense. In fact, most fertility tests for men can be done within a day or two of calling our office.

Selecting a team of professionals with experience and a good reputation are key to success. For over 20 years Dr Allen Morgan has served the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) community through education, advocacy and Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART). Our staff will help you make informed decisions like which partner should carry the baby, and ensure all legal obligations are fulfilled, like paperwork.

Increasingly more single women are taking control of their fertility and deciding when to have children on their own terms regardless of age, career position or relationship status. We are proud to be at the forefront of our field offering thousands of single women guidance, financing and treatment options other practices are just beginning to offer.

Gina's Success Story

I had heard about Morgan Fertility from a friend who had her children through IVF with Dr Morgan. She said she was never treated any differently than anyone else and that the staff were wonderful. She was right! They helped me and my wife through the whole process, from choosing a donor, right down to helping us decide which of us would carry the baby. I love them!  - Gina M.
